The bearded, celibate, vegetarian Isrealite House of David, as reorganized by Mary Purnell (A.K.A - Mary's City of David - Benton Harbor, Mich.), while famous for their amusement park, bands, and baseball team, also fielded a basketball team that played the Harlem Globetrotters and toured Europe in the 1930s, 40s and 50s.
